The Center’s Annual Benefit is an occasion for us to celebrate our growth and accomplishments of the past year and to pay tribute to exceptional members of our community who have made a lasting contribution to the practice or interpretation of book arts.
Angela Lorenz is an American artist who has been living in Bologna, Italy since 1989, where she produces sculptural, mixed-media limited-edition artists’ books. Angela holds a BA in Fine Art and Semiotics from Brown University and apprenticed with binder Paolo Bugetti at University of Bologna. She has exhibited her work and held residencies at venues across the US and Europe. Her work may be found in over 100 public collections.
Stay for an artists & publishers afterparty co-hosted by Endless Editions & Passenger Pigeon Press getting the dance floor started with DJ Duo at 9pm. Join around 200 young artists and publishers as you enjoy an open bar, dancing, and a pop-up publishing booth where attendees can contribute to a collaborative zine celebrating artist publishing in NYC!
The Center for Book Arts promotes active explorations of both contemporary and traditional artistic practices related to the book as an art object. The Center seeks to facilitate communication between the book arts community and the larger spheres of contemporary visual and literary arts, while being a model organization locally, nationally, and internationally within the field. We achieve this through exhibitions, classes, public programming, literary presentations, opportunities for artists and writers, publications, and collecting.
