In this 15-hour intermediate class, you will make an inboard cloth-bound book. Students will learn how to set up and use a sewing frame for large text blocks. This class prepares the student for leather binding and other advanced and historical structures.

*Prerequisites: Bookbinding 1, & 2 or equivalent*

About the Instructor:

Celine Lombardi studied bookbinding at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA and through working with private bookbinders in New York City. Currently she is a core bookbinding instructor at the Center for Book Arts in Manhattan; is the Chair of the New York chapter of the Guild of Book Workers; and has her own private studio in Brooklyn, NY. Her fine bindings have been exhibited in Boston, Chicago, London and New York. Her artist books and fine bindings are in rare book collections of libraries across the country.
